This page contains answers to commonly-asked questions about Frueauf Village and Falls Creek Village.

Should travel restrictions be put into effect and/or Falls Creek Resort be closed to the public – all booking deposits and/or payments will be refunded.

If you or others in your group are at high risk of spreading or getting coronavirus and you must cancel, Frueauf Village offers the following amended policy:

  • If a new or existing booking is cancelled up to 3 weeks prior to arrival, a full refund will be given
  • If a new or existing booking is cancelled less than 3 weeks prior to arrival you will receive a refund less a $300 booking fee. This booking fee can be credited to a future booking in 2021.

There are several ways to get to Falls Creek. Frueauf Village is located on Schuss Street within the Falls Creek Village.   The village roads are closed to vehicles during the winter season and the Accommodation Transfer Service is recommended to transports you and your luggage up to Frueauf Village.     You can walk but it is about 15-20 walk, all uphill or up the staircase.

Village Roads Closed – Winter
On arrival in Falls Creek, parking attendants will direct you to the Accommodation Transfer Terminal to unload your luggage.   Car parking attendants will then assist you to park your vehicle on the resorts overnight car par area and transport you back to the Accommodation Transfer Terminal. From here, you can purchase transfers for an accommodation transfer service which will take you and your luggage from the car park up to Frueauf Village.

Village Roads Open – Winter & peak times
When the village roads are open early and late snow season, you can access the village for a 30-minute period to drive in, load/unload your luggage.   You will be required to park your car in the resorts overnight car park area.   Parking attendants will assist you to do this.

Village Roads Open – October to May
You can drive into the Falls Creek village and street parking is available.   Please obey parking signs and park within the yellow lines.   During peak periods, Christmas/New Year, Peaks Challenge and Easter, village access may be restricted to 30-minute access only for load/unload and parking is available in the resort overnight car parking area.

During the winter season when the village roads are closed, the accommodate transfer services takes you and your luggage from the car park to your accommodation. Rates for 2020 have not yet been released but will be updated here as soon as the are confirmed. The rates for the 2019 season are detailed below.

The resort anticipates late arrivals, particularly on a Friday night.

Resort Entry, Car Park Attendants and Accommodation Transfers operate until about 10pm except on Friday when they operate until midnight.

Prior to your arrival, you will be provided with your apartment door codes to access your apartment when you arrive. If you need any assistance, call guest services on (03) 5758 3476.. During winter, parking is in the resort’s overnight car park.

In summer, there is street parking available at Frueauf Village.   During peak times including Christmas/New Year, Peaks Challenge and Easter, village access may be limited. You will be able to access the village to unload/load luggage but will be required to park your car in the resorts overnight car park area.

Outside of the declared snow season, no resort entry or parking fee applies.

During the declared snow season, Resort Entry & Parking Fees apply. Permits bought online are around 10% cheaper than buying at the gate. You can now print out your receipt and display in the windscreen as your Permit – this means no stopping at Resort Entry which saves you time.

For arrivals after 12am: Please park vehicle directly outside the Accommodation Transfer Terminal and purchase your resort entry permits from the Visitor Information Centre between 8am – 8.30am the next day. Please note all vehicles will need to be moved from the Accommodation Transfer car park no later than 8.30am the following day, fines apply.

There are several different ticket options available ranging from all-inclusive lift, lesson and rental passes through to specialised beginner packages and children’s programs.   Some discounts are available if you book your tickets 14 or more days in advance when you order online via the Falls Creek eStore or you can purchase your tickets when you are in Falls Creek.   We recommend Central Snowsports for Rental. There is a secure luggage storage area available at Frueauf Village to store your luggage prior to check in or after you have checked out of your apartment. To access the luggage storage area, contact guest services on 03 5758 3476.

If you arrive early and would like to change into ski gear and leave your belongings, Frueauf Village has a dedicated guest area with a change area, shower and day room. If you have checked out and would like to ski for the day, you may also leave your luggage securely with us. After skiing, you may use the dedicated early late facility to have a shower and/or change into clothes for your departure.

Some apartments have their own laundry facilities, for those that don’t Frueauf Village has an onsite guest laundry with coin operated machines. $2 per wash, $1 per dry.

There is a Foodworks supermarket located in Falls Creek.

If you shop before 3pm, Foodworks will deliver your groceries to your lodge before 6pm. Delivery is free if you spend over $100. Under $100 will incur $5 flat rate delivery charge. Foodworks Falls Creek does not pick and pack orders for delivery – if you require this service it must be done through the Mount Beauty Foodworks store. For full details go to Foodworks Supermarket.

Snow chains are a legal requirement for ALL vehicles entering Falls Creek alpine resort. All vehicles (including 2WD & 4WD) must carry a pair of snow chains even when the roads are clear during the declared snow season. Random checks from police will be carried out during the season and fines do apply. Snow chains can be hired from various ski hire and service stations on your way to Falls Creek or you may wish to purchase/hire them before you commence your journey. There is designated snow chain fitting bays along the mountain ascent so make sure you are aware of how to fit chains correctly.  Make sure you have a torch, towel, gloves and a plastic sheet as you never what time of the day or in what conditions you may need to fit snow chains.

Late check-out is unfortunately not available as we need to prepare the apartments for arrivals in the afternoon. Apartments need to be vacated by 10am on the day of departure. You can store your luggage in our luggage storage area so you can ski on your day of departure.

Frueauf Village is located in the heart of the Falls Creek village. When snow levels are good, you can ski-in to Frueauf Village via the home trail and Ory’s trail. You can ski-out down the village roads to the main chairlift Haley’s Comet. See the video in our Gallery.

If you prefer not to ski in/out or if there is insufficient snow, you can take the free village shuttle which operates daily from 8am – 6pm.   The shuttle stops just outside Frueauf Village and travels to Haley’s Comet and to the village bowl.
